Spring is in the air! Join us for an easy stroll through the Botanical Garden to explore what spring ephemerals are blooming. Along the way, we'll learn tips for identifying them & a little about their unique characteristics.

This week’s #SundayWalks takes us to one of our favorite hidden gems—the Moss Garden at Highlands Biological Station.

Tucked away, this shaded sanctuary is a living showcase of native mosses, liverworts, and other bryophytes that thrive in the cool, moist microclimate of the Plateau. It’s a perfect place to pause, breathe deeply, and forest bathe in quiet reflection.

Got little ones in tow? Make a stop by Pooh’s humble abode, nestled among the mossy hollows. Just a heads up—he may still be snoozing after a few chilly nights up here on the mountain 🐻❄️

Whether you're a plant lover, nature explorer, or simply looking for a peaceful spot to rest, the Moss Garden is a soft green invitation to slow down and connect.

Come be part of the spring-cleaning effort in Highlands! On Saturday, April 13, the annual Plateau Pick Up will take place to clean up litter in town and along the roads.

Saturday, April 13 | 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park
